Went along to the Unity pub to watch the famous Melbourne Cup. I thought I liked the name of a horse called 'Viewed' but was too late to place a bet. The pub was full to bursting at just coming up to three in the afternoon when the race would kick off. There were a number of screens on the walls where the proceedings were shown. Shops were close, businesses shut, work men on a quick break to have a schooner and a flutter and then suddenly at three on the dot the horses were off. It's one of the longest horse races but after all the amazing build-up it was over in a few very exciting minutes. Leigh, a friend, was lucky and had won a small sum. It was difficult to tell in the noise of the pub who had won exactly. I just came home and switched on the news and, of course, it was Viewed who won first place. Bugger! Oh well..

het is te snel om nu al te gaan rentenieren, alhoewel, dan had je mij over kunnen laten vliegen om te helpen bij het sjouwen van spullen.
would be fun
