New Year's Eve

A happy New Year to everyone! Let's hope 2009 brings us all good fortune, health and happiness. Terri and I went along to the harbour at the ferry wharf at Balmain East with all the tourists and backpackers. The little bottleshop on the corner was doing a roaring trade. We had a great view of the Bridge and the harbour and we watched the nine o'clock fireworks.

Then we left the crowds and got back to the centre of Balmain and went to one of our local pubs. The tourists were missing out. Then, just before midnight we went with everyone from the pub just around the corner which gives a great view of the harbour and the city and there we watched the big fireworks, which were amazing. I've watched them on the telly so many years, always starting in Sydney, then London, then New York, but to see them for real this time was great.

Thanks, ClanDeLaTour for the wonderful video greeting. Great stuff!

I hear it's really cold in Europe. I went for a swim yesterday...sorry..
